I am Chase Yanzer, a 33 year old SHS and IU grad, and lifelong Shelby County resident running for Shelby County Council.

At my core I believe in the power of hard work and determination. I am where I am today because others have believed in me and I’ve worked hard to make the best of myself. I started working at 14 and have done many things including working as a Legislative Asst.

for the IN House Democrats after interning there in college. Currently, I am the Director of Construction Projects at Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity.

I know that as someone who has never held public office I will have a lot to learn, but I can guarantee no one will out work me in understanding the issues that are important to Shelby County residents, and I can promise to always do my best and what is right for my constituents.

BETTER COMMUNICATION

You have enough to do. I get it. You shouldn’t have to spend your precious time trying to keep

track of what your local government is doing. If elected, I will keep you informed, listen, and take your concerns seriously -because that’s what you deserve. I will prioritize communication because I work for you.

A FOCUS ON REGULAR FOLKS

For too long government has worked for the rich and powerful. Enough. Government should work to do what is best for the majority of us - not the elite. We have to do better. If elected, I will fight to make government work for regular folks by focusing on the needs of everyday people.

MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET

Regular folks are struggling financially.

Wages have not kept up, and people don’t make enough money for what they do. If elected, I will do everything I can to support working folks by fighting for higher wages and lower prices. And I promise to do my part by spending taxpayer dollars wisely.

INCREASING VOTER PARTICIPATION

People are frustrated with our elected leaders because they don’t help regular folks. Nothing will change if all we do is complain on the sidelines. To take back control we MUST vote. Go out and vote for the best person, regardless of party, and please don’t vote straight ticket - you might miss me!
